Description
Deep learning underlies the current renaissance of artificial intelligence (AI) and is enabling breakthroughs in a wide range of applicative fields, including biomedicine. In this presentation, we will first provide a brief introduction to deep learning, then highlight a few landmark biomedical applications. We will then focus on selected projects in our lab that mobilize deep learning, especially ANNAPALM (https://annapalm.pasteur.fr/), a method to speed up the high resolution visualization of cellular biostructures, and IMJOY (https://imjoy.io), a computational platform to democratize deep learning the biomedical community and beyond.
