🇬🇧 Janssen session - Multi-Omics Analysis in Precision Medicine: greater than the sum of its parts with AI

Nov 17, 2021 | 10:50 AM CET - 11:20 AM CET

Description

Over the last few decades our ability to generate population-level high-dimensional data, spanning multiple scales from cells to individuals, has raised the hope for a medical practice that would treat the right patient with the right drug at the right time. Achieving the promise of precision medicine requires that we make use of the data we have accumulated, taming the complexity of biological systems to achieve patient stratification and target identification. Recent advances in machine learning have opened up new possibilities to use this data, uncovering the complex patterns underlying the observations made using various -omics platforms and making the link to phenotypes and diseases. In this masterclass, we will introduce some of the principles Omics data and outline a few of the many possibilities through which machine learning will augment Omics analysis, as well as some of the challenges we must overcome before we can truly improve patient outcomes.
